These rules have been established to protect against Identity Theft and Fraud, as well as to minimize unauthorized use of personal credit information. While these rules might seem intrusive they are the only way that information will be provided by HIRE-SAFE to a client

Here’s how to get started:

For an INDIVIDUAL LANDLORD operating WITHOUT a business name:

Complete the SUBSCRIBER AGREEMENT which is required for compliance purposes. Fax it to us at 866·619·1050 and we'll email to you the TENANT SCREENING COMPLIANCE PACKAGE.

Contained in the TENANT SCREENING COMPLIANCE PACKAGE are all of the forms needed to conduct Tenant Screening in compliance with federal and/or state law.

1. Give the applicant the following disclosure forms:

  • (a) A Summary of Your Rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act
  • (b) For CA applicants only; The California Consumer Credit Reporting Act

2. Applicant signs the following two forms:

  • (a) Rental Property Release Authorization
  • (b) For CA applicants only, California Authorization to Verify
    (keep BOTH of these forms for your records)

3. Send  to HIRE-SAFE (fax 866-619-1050) a copy of the completed (signed) rental application or agreement for each rental property, and a copy of the filed property title. Again, these protocols are required by Experian to prevent identity theft and fraud.


For an INDIVIDUAL LANDLORD operating WITH a business name send these additional documents to HIRE-SAFE:

  • Business license; copy or documented verification* with issuing authority
  • Fictitious Business Name filing with proof of filing
     
    • Documented Bank Verification Form must include:
      ü Name of institution
      ü Name of person interviewed
      ü Phone number of institution
      ü Verification of Business Name
      ü Name of person who conducted the verification
      ü Date verification was conducted
